The initiative recognizes the significance of crew involvement in successfully implementing sustainable practices at sea and begins with cadets preparing to embark on their careers as deck and engineering officers. The objective is to introduce these cadets to fuel optimization tools they will encounter during their offshore operations, thus equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to actively contribute to sustainability and fuel optimization initiatives.

The Saudi NMA is a non-profit training academy that delivers world-level theoretical and practical training in the maritime sector. NMA’s mission is to equip Saudi youth with market-relevant skills for shipbuilding and repair, Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, and maritime employment. It also aims to develop knowledge and competencies through advanced and accelerated training programs to bridge the gap in skills and prepare a “job-ready” talent pool.
